If you fancy livening up your quiet little Fiji holiday, do what Kelly did and head to Pacific Harbour, around three hours from Nadi, and treat yourself to a JetSki Safari Adventure. It's a great way to explore the waters and smaller beautiful islands of the Coral Coast, just off the mainland of Viti Levu.
JetSki Safaris have five of the latest Yamaha jet ski models. The large jet skis comfortably seat up to three. Each has storage capacity for personal belongings, snorkelling gear and drinks. If you see a great snorkelling spot, jump off, have a look around and climb back on board.
The day begins at 8.30am with a brief on the activities, safety and general rules. Fiji waters are very friendly, the skis are easy to operate and you are always in the company of locals who know the ins and outs. You will explore almost unknown snorkelling spots, guaranteed not to be crowded.
Tours include sight-seeing, snorkelling, lunch on a beach and they cover around 60 kilometres of lagoon waterways.
You head through the deep Beqa Passage waterway into Beqa Lagoon and circumnavigate its beautiful island. It is surrounded by a tropical lagoon with plenty of great snorkelling spots, classified as some of the best in the world.
Beqa's lagoon was formed by an extinct volcano crater, and was named by Jacques Cousteau as the "Soft Coral Capital of the World". There you can enjoy exploring the island's beautiful beaches and be served lunch, surrounded by peace and beauty.
It is said in Fiji that there is no such thing as a "best location" Each site has something special and gives a memorable experience.
Warm, clear waters averaging 25°C to 28°C year-round and visibility sometimes up to 30 metres make snorkelling a most popular activity for visitors. Reefs and lagoons teem with amazing sea creatures, large and small, in well-preserved and unadulterated conditions.
