Cook Islands: Blue lagoon beauty Aitutaki

17:30 AEST Sat Sep 15 2012
The fifteen islands of the Cook Islands lie between New Zealand and Hawaii.

They enjoy an idyllic climate, and Natalie immediately felt beauty and serenity the minute she arrived in the capital, Rarotonga.

The part-volcanic, part-atoll main island remains relatively untouched, unspoilt and underdeveloped, so it was a sign of things to come.

A 45-minute flight took Natalie to Aitutaki, the second most populous island, where time seems to have stood still. Everything is centred around a clear, blue lagoon and it wasn't long before Natalie joined a TeKing Lagoon Tour.
