Orlando, Florida, is the number-one family holiday destination in the world. With that in mind, the Holiday Inn has focused on creating the ultimate kid-friendly hotel. It's a place for the whole family, but where kids reign supreme.
Suites are decked out with characters such as Sponge Bob Square Pants, Wanda from The Fairly Odd Parents and the Rugrats. Studio Nick is a million dollar state-of-the-art theatre with live, interactive family entertainment every night.
The hotel opened in May this year and combines two widely successful brands Nickelodeon, the children's channel, and Holiday Inn, the popular hotel chain.
The lobby is decorated in signature Nickelodeon colours and features favourite characters. There are two registration areas one for adults, one for children.
Two-bedroom KidSuites sleep a family of up to seven and feature SpongeBob SquarePants, Rugrats, Jimmy Neutron; Boy Genius and Danny Phantom. The kids' bedroom has bunk beds and a pull-out sleeper or two twins, 20" television, in-suite television movie rental and game system, CD/cassette player and activity table.
The adult room has king or queen bed, 25" television, video player, Internet access, rocking chair, game table, mini kitchen, refrigerator and microwave.
Three-bedroom/two-bathroom kidsuites and one-bedroom suites are also available.
The Lagoon courtyard has a zero-depth entry pool, anchored by a four-storey interactive water tower with multiple slides, climbing nets, water jets and a 1500 litre dump tank that splashes down unexpectedly. There are also two giant family-size whirlpool spas.
Each day there are poolside interactive games hosted by the recreation team, a netted basketball court with multi-height hoops, a wet/dry preschool play area, mini-golf course and pool bar and grill.
Nicktoons Café is the main restaurant offering a la carte and buffet service.
Nick @ Nite Lounge is for adults it is comfortable and welcoming and several television monitors show sporting events.
At Kids Spa they offer hair braiding, hair wraps and temporary tattoos.
The Mall is the hub of activities for the hotel. The food court has a variety of eateries and you can purchase packaged items and drinks. It also houses The Arcade, an enormous games room.
At The Kids Desk, kids sign in and learn about daily entertainment programs and other on-property activities. There is also a guest services desk.
Complimentary shuttles are available to Universal Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando, Wet 'n' Wild and all four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.
