This week, hunky star of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Johnny Depp, answers the Getaway questionnaire on trave and his latest film.
Q: What's your favourite place to holiday and why?
A: Anywhere by a boat. The Bahamas is not a bad place to sail around. The Caribbean. The Mediterranean is nice as well. I just love being on the water.
Q: What's your number one travel tip?
A: The cub scouts and boy scouts have the best one. Be prepared for anything. Travel with wine. Yeah, bring good wine with you.
Q: What do you never leave home without?
A: My kids first. My kids and my girl! Passport. You just never know where you might end up.
Q: Ultimate travel experience?
A: Honestly, to sail around the earth. That's one of my great dreams.
Q: Favourite Australian travel experience?
I've had some great travel experiences in Australia. At one place I asked if it was possible to, instead of looking at the koala, if I could meet it. This little thing, little koala approached me and stuck out his arms and I thought, "How cute". Then he stuck these talons on my leg and started to climb me. Think he thought I was a tree.
Q: What's the best thing about
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?
A: What we tried to do was be as faithful to Roald Dahl's book and his intent as we possibly could, so it's pretty honest to what Roald Dahl wanted.
