What's your favourite vacation spot and why?

When I was a little girl, I used to go to Nantucket Island off Massachusetts, and to me it's the most magical place.

Do you still get to go?

I haven't been in about four years, but I hope to [again]. It's one of those places where I hope to have a place, but it's very expensive.

What's your number one travel tip?

My one number one travel tip is don't over schedule. I know you're going some place, you're wanting to see everything there is to see, but unless you build in some downtime you're not going to enjoy it. And remember, vacations should maybe, hopefully, be mind-expanding a lot of the time, but they are also about resting and relaxing.

What do you never leave home without?

What kind?

I have a whole bunch of them but I'd say Nars. I have a lot of Nars ones.

What is your ultimate travel destination?

Where do I want to go to? I've never been to Paris and I would really love to go.

What and where was the best meal you've had?

I was in London a few years ago and I had dinner at Claridge's, at Gerald Ramsay's — is that what it's called? That was amazing; one of the most amazing [meals] I've ever had.

You mean Gordon Ramsay?

Gordon Ramsay, yeah, the crazy chef.

What's the most prized possession or souvenir that you've bought on a trip?

I [visited] India when I was in college and I have an ivory carving that's just beautiful.

Did you have a favourite location on Sex and the City?

I think we shot in Buddakan in the movie, which is an amazing restaurant, and I think that was pretty gorgeous and we had some of the food, too, and it wasn't bad.

Even in the circumstances of what happens in the movie?

Even in the circumstances of what happens in the movie, [yes].

Where is the strangest place you've seen your own image?

Oh, I don't know. I think the thing that always surprises me is when I see a film that I've been in, but it's from another country. And they always use different images and then they have the foreign writing on it. That always surprises me because it makes me think how far-flung some of [my work gets seen].

Where would you want to live most in the world?

New York; I love New York. I've always lived here; born here, never lived anywhere else.

Do you live downtown?

I don't. I live in Upper West Side — I'm not funky enough to live downtown.
