Rhine and Moselle river cruise: Germany's prettiest parts

Scenic Tours: Cruising the Rhine and Moselle rivers

17:30 AEST Sat Mar 23 2013

Livinia Nixon joined Getaway on a Scenic Tours Rhine and Moselle River adventure. She boarded Scenic Crystal, the sixth and latest addition to Scenic Tours Space-Ship fleet.

It's the largest, most technically advanced ship to cruise the European waterways, and is more like a hotel than a boat. 84 percent of cabins have a private balcony, all enjoy butler service and there are excellent dining, drinking and relaxing facilities on board. Each cabin has satellite television and even Australian powerpoints!

The 15 day Rhine River Cruises begin in Amsterdam and takes in Belgium, Germany, France and Switzerland.

Amsterdam is famous for canals, bicycles, cheeses and beautiful flowers. It's a city with a deep respect for its royal family and by co-incidence Livinia was there for the annual celebration of Queen Beatrix's birthday. The family colour is orange, and on that special day the entire country is ablaze with every shade of the colour on that day.
