Cruising our west coast in a stretched Harley Davidson is absolutely the way to go!
Hillarys Boat Harbour is one of Perth's favourite spots. It's a place where you can tie up your boat, enjoy safe swimming, eat, shop and hop on board one of Chris and Rhonda McCredie's Limotrike Tours.
As part of Down Under Harley Tours, which they started 11 years ago and now boasts a fleet of 14 bikes, the Limotrike is something to behold.
It took Chris four-and-a-half years and a lot of money to build the vehicle from scratch in his garage, and the result is the world's longest three-wheeled limousine. It is 6.5m long and 2m wide.
It began as a piece of foam that was turned upside down and a fibreglass body made to the shape of the model. The chassis is totally handmade and sports a powerful Chevrolet motor.
The Limotrike has a leather lounge, a DVD television, surround-sound stereo, jarrah bar, crystal champagne glasses and mood lighting, making it popular for weddings, honeymoons and other special celebrations.
Hillarys Boat Harbour is popular with locals and holidaymakers as it offers a wide variety of things to do: restaurants, a fun park, water slides, whale-watching tours, shops, fishing, swimming and an aquarium. You can also board a boat to Rottnest Island there.
Perth is proud of its 80 kilometres of pristine sandy white beaches and it's great to sit on the top of the trike and enjoy the view as you're riding along.
Subiaco is a trendy suburb with a good strip of cafes and is home to famous Subiaco Oval where many cricket matches and Australian Rules football are played.
A drive alongside the Swan River will take you through the city of Perth and along Millionaires' Row, home to some of the city's more pretentious mansions.
If you arrive in Fremantle with a thirst, a visit to Little Creatures Brewery will fix that. All brewing is done on-site and it has a cellar door, as well as a restaurant and bar.
