On a quest to discover pristine scenery? Don't miss the best bits … get on a quadbike.
The Freycinet National Park on Tasmania's east coast is on a peninsula, almost separated from the mainland. Road access is limited, but a quad bike gives you much deeper access into the park than a 4WD car.
Tim and Archana Brammal's company, All 4 Adventure, offers off-the-beaten track trips on quad bikes. They take up to four people on trips tailored to suit individual needs. Times are flexible, with sunset being most popular for enjoying the view across Coles Bay.
The Bay has great beaches for swimming, diving, skiing and fishing and there is good bushwalking and birdwatching. Lots of possums and wallabies live in the area and there is a wide variety of flora, including 60 types of orchid.
All 4 Adventures always begin with safety instruction, rider training and tips and a test run. Prospective riders must have a full and valid licence. The bikes are easy to handle and give a comfortable ride.
Tours are sensitive to the fragility of the park and travel at a sensible pace. There are stops along the way where the guide talks about some of the interesting history of the area and the availability of bush tucker.
You will see Mt Freycinet, Mt Parson, Wineglass Bay, Cape Tourville Lighthouse and evidence of the pink granite unique to the area.
Coles Bay, 212 kilometres north-east of Hobart.
All 4 Adventures tours start at $85 per person. They operate year round.
Please note prices are valid at time of transmission and to the best of our knowledge are inclusive of GST.
