A touch of the Mediterranean, a whiff of Ireland and a dab of Tasmania … welcome to Piermont Retreat.
Heather and Peter Boulot run Piermont Retreat on 240 hectare stretch of shoreline. It has a creek on one side and is surrounded by superb natural beauty.
The 10 cottages, which are nestled around the water's edge, have solid local dolerite rock walls, Tasmanian timber floors, sandstone benches, sheepswool insulation and slate roofing.
A natural mould in the landscape has become an amphitheatre which is used for entertainment and at other times is just a beautiful landmark.
Synthetics and chemicals have been avoided and the cottages have neutral magnetic fields ensuring good, peaceful sleep. Its water supply is energised, and everything at Piermont goes towards a fully recuperative experience for couples, families and worn-out business people.
Everything is handcrafted from natural materials and you won't find superfluous decorations and polishes.
The understated cabins offer first-class accommodation in luxury and comfort, all of which achieves what the owners want their guests to enjoy. The simple philosophy is to let people feel nature again, escape noise and be confronted by natural beauty.
They are fully self-contained with breakfast provisions provided, and they can arrange a candlelit dinner for you.
Apart from what nature has provided in the surrounding bush and animal life, there is a full size tennis court, pool, mountain bikes, fishing dinghy, canoes, bushwalking trails and table d'hôote dining.
A short distance from the retreat is Swansea Golf Course, speedboat and fishing trips, sea-kayaking, wineries, hiking through Freycinet National Park or strolling along the beautiful beaches.
