Abbotsford Country House is a colonial Georgian-style homestead sitting on 20 hectares of farmland, overlooking Barossa vineyards, farming country and across to the Barossa Ranges.
Two large freestanding cottages each have four suites, decorated in relaxed Australian country style with antiques and attractive fabrics being used throughout. High ceilings, enormous bathrooms and the owners' personal touches add a delightful charm. Blue and white china and hand-embroidered table linen have been passed through generations of Jane and Julian Maul's families.
Abbotsford's dining room is open to guests only and Jane prepares breakfast and dinner using local products and evening meals accompanied by local wines. They have an extensive cellar which guests love to browse and maybe make a purchase or two. They stock everything from cleanskins to rare vintage Barossa classic wines, as well as an excellent knowledge of the Barossa wineries and other things to do.
To enjoy the relaxed mood, the homestead has a library, petanque and croquet or enjoy relaxing on the verandahs and soaking in the country air.
