If you are on Queensland's Sunshine Coast and want some added excitement and action, Big Kart Track is the place to go.
Australia's largest and fastest go-kart track is 1200m long, with the added bonus of great views of the Glasshouse Mountains.
Test your skills and challenge your friends in one of the 50 go-karts. They also have three children's karts and a double-seater if a parent wants to accompany a child on a special separate track. They're easy to drive just an accelerator and a brake and off you go, up to 60kph.
You can go as quickly or as slowly as you like and there is no age limit. You just need to be at least 1.5 metres tall so you can reach the pedals.
The track was modelled on the Italian Jesolo track and has several hairpin turns, an "s" bend, angled corners, a pit area and a grandstand. Professional karters use it, getting up to 170 kph.
This is also where you can try your hand on Australia's first bungee bullet. Two people are harnessed and seatbelted into a circular cage, raised two to three metres by hoist and held in position by a hook and magnet. The bungee elastic chord is stretched out, the magnet taken away and the cage flicks, spins and twists around 50 metres into the air at a speed of 400kph. You then free fall back to earth. Again, there is no age limit but you must be taller than 1.2 metres.
If you want to travel there or anywhere else while on the Gold Coast, Heliquest is the way to go.
