South Pacific Noosa

Thursday, October 18, 2001
If you fancy a South Pacific holiday, complete with swaying palms, flowering hibiscus and an Aussie dollar worth a dollar, you only have to go as far as Noosa in Queensland.

If you fancy a South Pacific holiday, complete with swaying palms, flowering hibiscus and an Aussie dollar worth a dollar, you only have to go as far as Noosa in Queensland.

Set in 2.5 hectares of lush, tropical vegetation, you have the feeling of being on an island in the middle of the ocean, not minutes away from Hastings Street.

The resort is made up of apartment blocks, each named after a Pacific Island — Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Fiji, Cook Islands, through to some of the lesser known Islands such as Marquesas, Kiribati and The Marshalls.

South Pacific has 109 4½-star apartments — one, two and three bedroom — all spacious and self-contained. Each is private with a large verandah, and decorated in soft, natural timber.

Your apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, reverse-cycle air-conditioning, queen-size bed, spa bath, cable television, video cassette player and all are designated non-smoking. Some have wheelchair access.

There are plenty of quiet spots in the gardens, and you will also find a sauna, full-size tennis court, three heated, outdoor spas and four lagoon-style pools — one is heated in the cooler months.

The Hula Moon is a bar and restaurant which is open all day, and they offer in-room dining as well as poolside snacks, tropical drinks and romantic dinners.

The Aveda Day Spa is where you can enjoy relaxing beauty treatments from a manicure to massage or make-up.

If you fancy a night without the children, South Pacific can arrange a babysitter for you. They also have cots and highchairs for hire.
