Fantasea Ammari

Thursday, November 29, 2007

The Whitsundays is made up of 74 islands. Just six are inhabited by humans. The others are national parks.

From June to September is whale watching season. Humpbacks visit between June and September to raise their new-born calves in the Great Barrier Reef's sheltered waters.

A simply wonderful way to enjoy this marvellous part of the world is aboard the 60 metre, 32 cabin MV Fantasea Ammari. They offer three- and four-night cruises from Hamilton Island and Daydream Island.

Cabins are carpeted and have ensuite facilities. There is a wardrobe with safety box, flat-screen television, refrigerator and luggage storage. Passengers have a choice of three cabin decks, so can be close to the water or close to the stars.

Lighthouse Deck is the highest cabin deck and free of public areas so has a higher level of guest privacy. Beneath that is Coral Sea Deck with easy access to the Lounge Bar and dance floor. James Cook Deck is where you will find reception, boutique, restaurant and pool. There is also a day spa, salon, fitness area and sundeck bar.

Guests can scuba dive and snorkel among colourful fish and corals. You will see turtles and countless other creatures you may never have seen before.

Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island has been labelled the ''World's Most Sensational Beach'' by the Discovery Channel. When you see its seven kilometres of silica sand you will know why. You can even walk along it. You will also visit Reefworld Adventure Platform at Hardy Reef and other unique locations.

A carefully chosen menu suits the most sophisticated palates and the wine list includes fine Australian and international vintages.

User comments
I was on the FantaSea Ammari when the getaway crew and Jules was and I love the experience. I strongly recommend this cruise to everyone. The boat is lovely, the staff are plentiful and helpful, the destinations are divine and the travel time between destinations is short. The area is so beautiful and if you just stay put on a place like Hamilton Island the whole time you miss so much of the area. On the cruise you visit the best destinations chosen by the company who know a lot about the area.
