Natalie Gruzlewski has found one heck of a way to enjoy Queensland's Gold Coast. Can-Am Spyder Roadster, the newest thing in power sports.
The Spyder Rider has three wheels two at the front, one at the rear and gives a motorbike performance with car-like control. It has safety features such as ABS, traction control, electronic brakeforce distribution and power-assisted steering. The Spyder is powered by a 1000cc Rotax V twin engine producing 110 horsepower. It has an advanced semi-automatic SE5 transmission.
Unlike two-wheeled bikes, Spyders don't lean into corners and feel very safe as they are. They handle like a high-performance sports car crossed with an all-terrain vehicle.
If you have a bike license you can drive one yourself, but really, it's better to sit back in comfort, cruise along and take it all in.
It's a fantastic way to experience the beautiful Gold Coast and northern New South Wales, including Byron Bay, the rainforest of Springbrook or the charming Mount Tamborine. It's also fun to take a head-turning ride along the streets of Surfers Paradise. Natalie chose to ride through the beautiful Currumbin Valley.
Owner Todd Webster is very proud of his Spyder Ryders, particularly as the Gold Coast is the only place in the world you can do the tours. You may have seen one in a movie, such as Transformers, GI Joe and Alvin and the Chipmunks.
The hire price includes safety gear helmet, jacket and gloves fuel and a picnic lunch. No matter your age, they are guaranteed to provide fun.
