For the first time in Australia, we give you an automatic driving range, a nine-hole mini golf course, chipping bunker, putting greens and golf clinics!
There's no denying the popularity of the game of golf. It is played in pretty well every country on earth and the challenge to get that handicap down takes up many hours of many people's leisure time.
This pursuit makes driving ranges very busy places and they have popped up everywhere Tokyo has them on tops of buildings and they are even on ocean liners.
And now, just a short drive from Brisbane in the suburb of Manly West, the latest technology from the United States has arrived.
For the first time in Australia, Golf Mania offers a totally automatic driving range plus a nine-hole mini golf course, chipping bunker, putting greens, golf clinics, golf pro shop and a coffee shop with views across the driving range.
The mini golf course is landscaped with hedges and palms and has a waterfall and creek. It is very popular with families.
At Golf Mania you don't have to worry about buckets of balls, and you don't even need to bend to put the ball on the tee. They are propelled through the floor right on to the tee, ready to go, thanks to a computerised system.
There are 30 undercover bays at the driving range and you can choose from four types of operating cards.
- $12 cards give 125 balls during the day or 100 balls at night.
- $24 cards give 275 balls during the day or 220 balls at night.
- $58 cards give 725 balls during the day or 580 balls at night.
- $115 cards give 1500 balls during the day or 1200 balls at night.
The machine in each bay records how many balls you have hit and deducts the amount due from your card.
Of course you don't have to use all your credits in one session. Whatever is left of your card can be used next time you visit Golf Mania.
