If test driving a classic is good enough for James Bond
, it’s plenty good enough for Brendon!
The Classic Car Club is for anyone who has ever dreamed about getting behind the wheel of a really special car and heading for the hills, but can't imagine actually owning one.
The club was designed for people who fancy driving the whole range of classic cars on a regular basis throughout the year. There is a one-off joining fee plus an annual membership fee and members are allocated points which are exchanged for days out. The only additional costs are petrol and sundries.
The club currently has a fleet of 13 cars, ranging from a 1971 Mini Cooper 2 to two yellow Porsche 911s and a classic '70s wedge-shaped Ferrari CT4.
The 1960 bug-eyed Austin Healey Sprite isn't the zippiest in their fleet, with a 900cc engine, but it is a lot of fun to whiz around town in and is definitely a favourite of collectors. The 1973 E-Type Jaguar is the club's most popular car. The powerful V12 5.3-litre engine has had $140,000 worth of restoration and has enormous power.
When members arrive at the garage, they are confronted with the entire fleet, which can make choosing the vehicle they want a little difficult.
A starter pack is available if you would like to try before you buy and visitor memberships are available for people from interstate or overseas.
There are gift certificates for selected cars. What a perfect solution for the person in your life who is very difficult to buy for!
