Pasadena on Pittwater

Thursday, August 14, 2003
If you fancy a weekend away, or just great dining by the seashore, then look no further than Pasadena.

Just 40 minutes north of Sydney's CBD in the historic suburb of Church Point is the small, family-operated Pasadena on Pittwater.

Pasadena is a landmark of the northern beaches and has been operating in a number of capacities for 75 years in its beautiful location right on the edge of Pittwater and the rugged Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park.

Pittwater is a yachtsman's paradise and the area is sprinkled with boats of all sizes, year round. Surfing and stillwater beaches are close by, seaplanes can land nearby and there is even a fairy penguin colony.

You can take a ferry across to Scotland Island, go bushwalking or find a beach of your very own in the Chase.

The motel-style accommodation of 14 rooms is basic but very comfortable. It is air-conditioned. Once you have relaxed here, it's the sort of place you want to keep to yourself. It's a little piece of Sydney that only some Sydneysiders know about.

The restaurant, a favourite with locals, is open for breakfast and lunch each day and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday.
