The Westin Sydney is in the heart of Sydney's CBD and is an integral part of the redevelopment of Sydney historic General Post Office. Its location is convenient to good shopping, Darling Harbour, Sydney Opera House, restaurants and theatres.
Westin properties enjoy an excellent reputation around the world and one of their drawcards are their Heavenly Beds®. Everyone wants to take one home!
Many travellers have a fitness regime they stick to at home, but find that discipline a little more difficult when away. Well, Westin has introduced fully equipped WestinWORKOUT Rooms to encourage guests to workout in the privacy of their own room, using a variety of advanced cardio and strength equipment.
Since November, 2003 Westin Hotels and Resorts has invested over $US10 million to redesign fitness facilities as part of its mission to develop the travel industry's most extensive fitness and wellness initiative.
WestinWORKOUT Rooms feature a Reebok Tomahawk XL Indoor Cycle or Life Fitness Treadmill, Reebok Pilates/Yoga and Spinning DVDs, and a custom-designed fitness shelf that holds adjustable dumbbells, resistance tubing, a stability ball, yoga mat and additional Reebok workout equipment.
This convenient, private exercise environment also features a fitness library by Rodale Press, the leading publisher of information on healthy, active lifestyles, which includes several books and magazines including Runner's World, Bicycling Magazine and a customised local running map. They have developed a selection of jogging and walking routes in the hotel's vicinity in every city, and pocket-sized maps show suggested routes, level of difficulty and points of interest.
Westin Sydney has a guided five-kilometre run three days a week. It is led by a running concierge, trained by experts at Runner's World. The run includes warm-up session with Reebok training tips and can be customised into an individual or group run. They have even thought to have jogging strollers for those travelling with small children but who still want that exercise.
Cool bottled water and towels are provided for the cool down after your scenic jaunt.
