If you've driven between Sydney and Melbourne, there's every chance that at about the half-way point you would love to take a break.
You could take Dermott's lead and head to the New South Wales south coast town of Eden. Exactly half-way between Sydney and Melbourne, it's the southern gateway to the Sapphire Coast, lying between Nullica Bay to the south and Calle Calle Bay, the northern reach of Twofold Bay.
The historic town has rugged beauty, golden beaches, clear waters, forests and parklands. It is still quite undeveloped and looks as it would have 100 years ago.
