Hemingway House is a waterfront property on Comerong Island at the southernmost end of Seven Mile Beach. Just 20 minutes east of Nowra via car ferry, the island is a mix of private property, fertile farmland and superb national park. There are just 13 homes on the island, five on waterfront blocks.
Seven Mile Beach National Park and Comerong Island Nature Reserve lie north and south of the Shoalhaven River entrance. The park has large areas of coastal dune forest on an ancient sand barrier, providing a haven for native animals. Coomonderry Swamp supports a wide range of bird, reptile and frog species, including some which are threatened.
Comerong Island has a pristine surfing beach and wonderful water access for boating, fishing, windsurfing and kayaking.
Hemingway House is in amongst all this beauty. It sits on 2.2 hectares of beautiful gardens facing north and is one of the homes with complete waterfrontage. It is centred around a saltwater pool with uninterrupted water views.
There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, all with privacy and connected by a central entertaining area of kitchen, dining and informal living. A formal lounge and reading room offer the chance to escape and relax. The owners have thought of everything to ensure a memorable stay. They gave the house its name because it reminded them of Ernest Hemingway’s house in Florida Keys.
Hemingway has a barbecue, open fireplace, laundry, CD and DVD players, in-house movies and videos.
Beds are comfortable and top quality linen provided. All you need to take is food and drink and the desire to soak up the surroundings. In-house beauty and massage services can be arranged.
