We invite you to stay in a charming, light and airy timber and stone cottage in the heart of the beautiful Kangaroo Valley.
Just two kilometres from the heart of Kangaroo Valley, sitting on half a hectare of lush, manicured garden, is Little Pig Creek. The property backs onto a farm, giving a further feel of isolation.
This charming timber and stone cottage is solid, spacious, light and airy. Its atmosphere is relaxed and has touches of exotica which have been collected by owner, Loo Taylor, in her travels. There are carpets from Morocco, Iran and Syria, a tiled panel from Portugal and bits and pieces she has found locally and restored. The claw bath was once a horse trough and there are doors from Brisbane's old Her Majesty's Theatre.
Little Pig Creek's walls are constructed of 10 centimetre thick hardwood. It has two double bedrooms, open plan living/kitchen area and bathroom. The kitchen has a gas stove, refrigerator and freezer, the living area has television, video and CD player and a dining table and chairs for six.
French doors open to a large sail-covered deck which overlooks the private garden with barbecue area. Large windows allow you to enjoy the same outlook from inside.
For cool nights and mornings there is a wood burning heater and a gas heater, and a central ceiling fan provides summer cooling.
Kangaroo Valley's wide grassy floor is perfect for dairy farms and it has its share of historic buildings and private retreats. The high forested slopes lead to the Kangaroo River which is crossed in the village by a castellated sandstone bridge.
The village has cafes, restaurants, shops, galleries and a pub. Nature has provided great scenery, a canoeable river and long and short walking tracks.
A little further afield is Seven Mile Beach National Park, the beautiful town of Berry, Jervis Bay and the Booderee National Park.
