Your next ski holiday should be with Mojosnow. Why? Because this is where the fun starts and doesn't stop, from the slopes to the schnapps!
Nat, Dan and Kim left the world of building and fishing to chase their dreams. Their passion and enthusiasm made their dreams become reality, and Getaway viewers may remember the Aussie Surf Adventures story we filmed with them a couple of years ago. They start in Sydney and take busloads of people keen on learning to surf up the coast of New South Wales to Queensland, stopping wherever the good waves are.
The surf trips operate once a month during winter and to fill in times when they aren't searching for the perfect wave, they are taking people to Perisher Blue in search of the perfect snow to ski and board. Wherever you go with them, an adventure is what they like to ensure you will receive.
You travel in a long-distance Mercedes bus which has reclining seats, television, video, CD player, Sony PlayStation and heating/cooling to your accommodation at the new Snowy Mountains Backpackers in Jindabyne. Morning and evening meals are included, as are daily transfers to Perisher Blue and National Park entry fees. A huge benefit of that is if you drive yourself in. You will have to pay an individual fee, and are likely to need tyre chains. Your accommodation has Internet access, a massage centre, laundry plus the Madaz Cafe which serves great hot chocolate and coffee and has super-friendly staff.
Mojosnow takes care of everything and can get good deals on hiring your gear at Pro Select, arrange discounted lift passes and line up lessons with trained instructors. You will also be given an exclusive T-shirt.
After a big day on the slopes, a hot shower awaits you at your warm and comfortable accommodation and after a night in Jindabyne's clubs and bars it's great to return to a clean, warm bed.
You receive a Mojosnow discount card which gives great savings at selected bars, surf/snow equipment stores, restaurants and nightclubs in Jindabyne or Sydney.
Perisher Blue is Australia's largest ski resort thanks to the linking of Perisher, Blue Cow, Guthega and Smiggins Holes. Fifty interconnecting lifts combine the resorts over seven snow-capped peaks. The ski area is 12.5 square kilometres.
First-timers receive free ski and board lessons on gradual beginner slopes and the more experienced are offered tree runs, big air half-pipes, terrain parks, table tops, moguls, black diamond runs you name it, it's there.
You need to take your warmest clothing, socks for ski and board boots, sunscreen and lip balm, party funds, goggles or sunglasses, snow pants and jacket, waterproof gloves, towel, and most importantly say the guys a sense of fun and adventure.
