Lake Crackenback Novotel

Thursday, September 14, 2006

Jindabyne is one of Australia's premier alpine regions and a gateway to two of its largest ski resorts, Thredbo and Perisher Blue. Tucked away amongst it all are Lake Crackenback Chalets, nestled on 60 hectares at the base of the Ram's Head Range in the Snowy Mountains.

Lake Crackenback Chalets offer a variety of accommodation styles from three bedroom chalets to studio suites. They are privately owned and built, and enjoy magnificent mountain views. Interiors are spacious and have open fireplaces, under floor heating, air conditioning, spa and sauna, modern entertainment systems, quality kitchen appliances and outdoor entertaining decks.

It's not all about snow, though. The summer season brings a wonderful variety of outdoor adventures. Guided walks, fly fishing, golfing, archery, paddle boats and just wandering through new growth and clean air.

Kosciuszko Alpine Guided Walks take you through the beauty and solitude of the National Park on one- or two-day guided treks. Overnight is spent in star-covered campsites and are fully catered.

Guides share their intimate knowledge of the Park and offer an experience far beyond the beaten track. They know about the sensitive environment, its flora, fauna and geological significance.

Guide to walker ratios are kept at a minimum, ensuring a relaxing experience, and guides are accomplished in bush and navigation skills, plus first aid.

The meeting place for all guided treks is located at High Country Ski & Sports/Walk Headquarters store located next door to Novotel Lake Crackenback Resort reception building. There will be a briefing with your guide distribution of trekking equipment and transport to trailheads.

The summer low season is between November 1-December 20, 2006 and January 8-April 30, 2007. Summer high season is between December 21, 2006-January 7, 2007.
