Oaks Pacific Blue

Thursday, September 11, 2008
Port Stephens is quite the holiday destination. It has loads of attractions, including harbour, beaches, parklands and coastal villages. It lays claim to the title 'Dolphin Capital of Australia' as the bay is home to around 150 bottlenose dolphins. It's also a wonderful location for whale watching, particularly the humpback whale.

If your holiday dream is all about diving, fishing, boating, snorkelling or building sandcastles, Port Stephens is the place to go!

The four-and-a-half-star Oaks Pacific Blue Resort has added to the 'Blue Paradise' reputation of the area. The new resort offers affordable luxury and if you've found most pools in holiday accommodation way too small, wait until you see their 485m-long beauty! Believed to be the longest pool in Australia, all facilities can be accessed from the water.

More than 200 rooms give you a choice from studios to three-bedroom apartments. Apartments have full kitchens and all accommodation has comfortable king beds and reverse-cycle air-conditioning.

They're all located around the pool and tropical gardens, encircled by a lagoon pool. Some rooms have swim outs, and townhouses have private plunge pools. Even though you are a short drive from the bustling Nelson Bay, you could very well be on a South Pacific island.

The island beach pool has heated spa areas and there are wading pools for little children.

The Sunsets at the Bay restaurant has a wide range of menu options — buffet, cafe, à la carte — served indoors or by the pool. Whatever you fancy.

Oaks Pacific Blue offers so much you never have to leave. Wind down in their Japanese steam room, work out in their gymnasium which has a 25m lap pool, enjoy a game on one of two floodlit tennis courts and spoil yourself with a relaxing visit to the Body & Soul Beauty spa retreat. They offer luxurious day-spa treatments and oxygen therapy. There is a hairdresser and a tempting fashion boutique.
