Soldiers Point is located on the peninsula, which has a no through road. So the park is relatively peaceful and doesn’t get much traffic noise.
The park is about a 10-15 minute drive from Nelson Bay right in Port Stephens and covers 2.2 hectares.
Soldiers Park is one of 4 holiday parks owned by the Port Stephens Council. A new addition to the park are the 15 self contained villas opened in September 2001. Prior to that there were only campsites.
Soldiers Point Holiday Park is situated right on the water. The villas are in a natural bush setting yet all 15 have some kind of water view. So the park has the best of both worlds; the natural bush area and then the water.
You can feed the Pelicans by the waters edge. The park has an activity co-ordinator and some of the activities at Soldiers Point include: trivia nights, bingo and movie nights where they show films on a large screen outside!
The Barrington Tops are approx 4 hours north west of Sydney. The area covers approx 80 000 hectares. There are sites throughout the park with crystal clear streams. Most sites have toilet facilities, and BBQ areas, but you need to bring everything with you.
All sites in Dungog area are free and the tops are open all year round.
The Basin is a very popular camping ground located on the edge of the Ku-ring-gai Chase national Park. There are about 100 camp sites on offer, acres of National bush to explore as well as safe swimming and fishing spots. The Basin can only be accessed by boat and the Palm Beach ferry operates everyday of the year. You need to book your camping spot in advance.
