At the end of Giaan Rooney's stay at Tonic Hotel in New South Wales' Hunter Valley
, she wanted to take it all home with her. She loved everything about it the relaxation, the food, the pampering. It all worked!
Tonic lives up to its name and is all about unwinding and rejuvenating. It has just eight secluded rooms. Six are perfect for couples and there are two apartments with two bedrooms each, a full kitchen, lounge and dining room with fireplace, plus two ensuite bathrooms, an outdoor deck and barbecue.
Beds are king-size and made up with crisp white linen and goose-down duvets and the bathrooms have heated floors. All rooms have access to the pool and Tonic Lounge, the entertainment area with a large timber deck attached.
Breakfast provisions are in your refrigerator sufficient for a three-course hot breakfast, with real coffee and specialty teas. Tonic Lounge offers a small deli with cheeses, pâté, dips, full kitchen and barbecue. There's a supply of frozen curries on the property, but a couple of kilometres away, Mojo's Restaurant has great food to takeaway. Pick it up on the way to Tonic and you won't have to leave the hotel again.
As you take it all in beautiful candles, rugs, slippers, art, pillows, beds, statues in the garden you may see something you'd love to own, and you can! Everything at Tonic is for sale. Make an offer and it could be yours. It's the perfect excuse for the owners to shop and replace so it's a win-win situation.
When you're ready to chill out, try a float in the pool or indulge in an in-room massage. Curl up with a book or take a walk along a country road and perhaps see kangaroos in the wild.
