Kelly Landry and a couple of friends decided they just weren't spending enough time together. Their busy working lives (Kelly spends a lot of time on the road) and family commitments didn't leave a lot of free time to spend with friends. So they decided to have a good old catch-up and headed to the Central Coast of New South Wales.
First priority: they needed somewhere great to stay.
Star of the Sea
This five-star apartment complex is in Terrigal, a legendary Australian seaside village. It sits on a headland, overlooking 4km of sandy beach and has views to the Norah Head Lighthouse 20km away.
There are sleek and spacious apartments with three or four bedrooms. Italian marble has been used throughout and gourmet kitchens have Miele appliances. There are separate dining and living rooms, widescreen televisions, elegant furnishings and even a laundry.
The resort has two heated pools, a waterslide, gym, steam room, snooker room, tennis and squash courts, barbecue area with a woodfired pizza oven, library and playground. You can swim to a granite bar area and order lunch and drinks.
If you feel like a break from cooking and can drag yourself away from the luxury of Star of the Sea, Terrigal has lots to offer.
Burger Girls Café
This is a great place to enjoy "the best burger ever", relax and have a good gossip. They make 14 different burgers, as well as fish and chips and wraps. The owner's favourite burger is a bagel with chicken, avocado, sundried tomatoes and brie. They make fresh juices, milkshakes, smoothies and there's ice-cream for dessert. Produce is mostly organic and all meals are made fresh on the premises.
Burger Girls has a beachside location and after a day of swimming or exercising people love to tuck into one of their treats which are tasty, wholesome and well-priced.
