Pavoritti's favourite place to stay.
Luxurious accommodation.
Visit Pavarotti’s favourite hideaway at Pangkor Laut Resort, Malaysia.
The one resort island is a favourite of the likes of famed tenor Luciano Pavarotti and is a great place to unwind. A former refuge for weary seaman, Pangkor Lau now houses one of the most highly recommended island resorts ¾ a place where one particular room costs as much as $1,177 for the night.
But don’t let that discourage you – that’s at the top end of the accommodation scale and there is plenty of variety.
In the newer part of the resort, you can choose from rooms built over the water, on the beach or on the hill. There’s also an older part built in a similar style where the rooms are smaller and less expensive. And even the rooms on the cheapest package are comfortable and have a great view.
The pace on Pangkor Island is very slow. There are no motorised water sports, pool games or party nights. About the most energetic thing you can do is venture over to Emerald Bay on the other side of the island, about five minutes away, for a bit of snorkelling.
But there are plenty of restaurants to eat at, and you won’t be bored living this highlife.
