Behind the scenes: Euro Road Trip, pt 1

, Prev Next

We hope you enjoyed the first segment of the European Road Trip, which saw our four intrepid young Aussies introduced to one another in London and set out on their adventure. Over the next six weeks our road trippers will be blogging about what didn't make it on your screen, so be sure to come back each week for the goss.

This week we were introduced to our campervan home, and it was hilarious to see the reaction from the girls. I can't believe how good the caravan is! I really wasn't expecting to something so big, however I was kind of freaking out a little due to the fact that I'm the only one of the four of us that can drive! We played "rock, paper, scissors" to sort out the sleeping situation because it seemed like a fair way to decide who slept where; I was pretty bummed to be the tallest person in the smallest bed (I'm 6'2'', my bunk is 5'2'' — the van doesn't feel so big afterall!).

Oh well — I'm having the best time so far and really looking forward to biking around Amsterdam. I'm a bit worried about CJ as she doesn't know how to ride a bike (who doesn't know how to ride a bike?!). Hope you enjoyed the first episode and I promise you things will only get funnier, crazier and scarier as we make our way through Europe. See you next week!

London was brilliant ... apart from the heat (it was 35 degrees! You probably couldn't tell in the segment that we were sweating our @$#! off). The sightseeing was great, but it was the arrival of our van that was most surreal; campervanning's a great way to really see the sights and the countryside, but be forewarned — BYO pillows! Within ten minutes our chariot smelled like a rotten foot, but it was a small price to pay.

One thing that was not shown on camera was CJ and I getting lost in the enormous ferry boat. We were trapped, asking people who didn't speak any English for directions, and despite being a bit traumatic the experience was totally funny — a good way for us girls to bond.

Next stop ... Amsterdam! This is the start of a fabulous journey with four complete strangers ... its going to be a rollercoaster!

Hi everyone! I hope you enjoyed the first episode as much as I did.

I've been asked to provide you with a little 'behind the scenes' goss: well, when we got on to the van and played "scissors, paper, rock" to decide who would share the double bed, Eloise and I played ... obviously I chose her, picking Courtney did cross my mind! More on that in the weeks to come.

Until next time, enjoy life on the show and keep smiling.
